A barren land, panic-stricken,

enmeshed, entangled with wriggling worms

crawling snakes that scorn.

Skulls of human and animals alike

a gory mess on earth.

Hurricane of sandstorms arise

choking breath and nostrils,

suffocated I, run hither and thither

gasping for breath inside an edifice

resembling a futuristic laboratory.

Inside were children harnessed in a mask,

playing with gadgets, who hadn't witnessed

green trees, flowers, birds and butterflies.

Pain afresh  like a tattoo pricked my heart,

blood in veins boils in dismay and despair.

Lungs are afire, under the shadows of development

a horror of chopping trees

caged children in chambers of glass dome

weighed down with an oxygen cylinder

an alarming grotesque nightmare! To survive!
