Poet vs Priest
A priest chants prayers and hymns
With devotion pure and faith deep
Bounded by a single religion and beleifs
Teaches and preaches scriptures with ease.
Poet transcends the barrier of religion with vision
Sacred truth poet scribble sans inhibition
Thoughts are dipped in ink laced with fantasy and imagination
Rosary of sonnets and ballads oozing truth in their creation.
Poet and priest plants hope in life's ebb and flow
Spirits of both though assumed to be pious and pure
Somewhere down the line priests have lost trust
As they exercise rituals to create fear unjust.
Bard never forgets his responsibility and sanctity
Remains true to values and morals inspite adversities
Salvation can be attained from Karma; devotion or creativity
Above all priests and poets are integral part of society
